INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Police are searching for two persons of interest in relation to Saturday’s shooting at Independence Center that left two 17-year-olds shot and sent shoppers running frantically throughout the mall.
The men (pictured) may have information about the shooting, according to police.
The shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. Saturday inside of a mall corridor.
A fight between two groups escalated into the shooting, according to police.
Three to four shots could be heard throughout the mall, sending patrons running for their safety.
The building was locked down, and portions of the mall were evacuated.
Police took three people into custody for questioning, but they were later released.
The two shooting victims, one male and one female, are expected to make full recoveries.
