KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A standoff that lasted more than eight hours at a home in Kansas City, Kan., ended just before noon Thursday when a homicide suspect was found dead inside the house. Police said it was apparent the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
Authorities responded to a shooting call around 3:40 a.m. in the 2300 block of S. Mill.
Arriving officers found a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound in the front yard of a residence and received information that a suspect in the shooting may be in a home nearby, Kansas City, Kansas Police Department spokesman Thomas Tomasic said in a live interview on 41 Action News Today.
Investigators told 41 Action News authorities entered the home to find the suspect deceased.
The suspect’s cause of death was not immediately clear.
