KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A man who escaped custody in the Wyandotte County Courthouse carrying a 6-month-old baby has been arrested after nearly a year on the run, authorities said Tuesday.
Robert Ingram fled the courthouse March 2, 2012 carrying the child with him. After revoking Ingram’s probation, the judge told him he could make a phone call to arrange a ride home for the child.
The child was found unharmed shortly after Ingram's escape. Surveillance video of the escape can be seen in the media player above.
Ingram's sister, who police said was driving his getaway car from the courthouse, turned herself into police a couple of weeks after the escape.
Police said Ingram was arrested at a residence in Kansas City, Kan., Tuesday at about 11:30 a.m.
He was transported to the Wyandotte County Jail.
