SHAWNEE, Kan. - A suspect in a Johnson County, Kan., liquor store robbery led police on a wild chase where police shot at him early Friday before crashing on Interstate 70 and being arrested.
The Shawnee Police Department says it all started around 8:35 p.m. Thursday when the suspect robbed Halftime Liquor Store, 15810 Shawnee Mission Parkway. The robber put two people into a cooler, but neither was injured.

Officers arrived minutes later, and began a pursuit of the suspect vehicle, a black Chevrolet Cobalt.
The officers lost sight of the suspect vehicle somewhere in Kansas City, Kan., but continued searching for several hours.
A little after midnight, the suspect vehicle was spotted by Kansas City, Kan., police officers, who chased the driver back into Shawnee on Interstate 435.
The Shawnee Police Department joined the second chase, and at one time fired shots at the suspect as he lost control of the vehicle getting off of K-7 onto Interstate 70.
The suspect was able to regain control of his vehicle and continued westbound on Interstate 70 in the eastbound lanes.
About 1.5 miles later, the suspect got into an accident and bailed from the vehicle. He was arrested after a short foot chase.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
