SHAWNEE, Kan. - Police have cited a woman after finding her toddler unattended in a locked car in a store parking lot.
Shawnee Police say a tipster called them Wednesday night after finding a toddler in a parking lot outside the Hobby Lobby store on Shawnee Mission Parkway.
When police arrived, they found the toddler inside the locked car, which was not running at the time.
Police believe the toddler’s mother had left the child alone in the car for 15 minutes before coming out to see police around her car.
The woman was cited for municipal endangering a child and illegal parking.
