KANSAS CITY, Mo. - More than 40 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence over the weekend in two separate sobriety checkpoints in Kansas City.
Officers with the Kansas City Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted the checkpoints at 13th and Pennsylvania on Friday night and 39th Street and Southwest Trafficway on Sunday night.
On Friday, 419 cars were stopped with 13 DUI arrests.
On Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day, at the Westport checkpoint, officers stopped 1,127 vehicles, making 27 DUI arrests.
Officers also made arrests for, among other things, driving while suspended, careless driving and possession of marijuana.
