Woman and child safe after standoff ends; no suspect found

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A woman and 4-year-old, but no suspect, were found inside a home involved in a stand-off early Friday morning.
The standoff started just before 9 p.m. Thursday at a duplex in the 8700 block of E. 7th Street. Officers were initially called to the area for a domestic violence incident, but when they arrived, the suspect dragged a woman inside the home. Police said they heard gunshots coming from inside the duplex.
The standoff ended just after 1 a.m. Friday. Officers found a woman and 4-year-old inside the home. Both were unharmed. Police did not find the suspect inside the home.
