KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Three men face charges after an attempted home invasion gone wrong on Thursday.
Authorities charged Desmond C. Moore, 20, Ronald Brown, 23 and Dshawn Marchbanks, 21, all of Kansas City, Mo., with attempted burglary and unlawful use of a weapon.
Police said Marchbanks suffered a gunshot wound in the incident after Shirley Roberts, the owner of the home, fired a round through her door before the trio could break in.
Roberts told authorities she saw one of the men raise his leg as if he was going to kick in her back door, so she fired the shot.
Moore and Brown took Marchbanks to Research Medical for treatment after the shooting.
