KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police say the standoff near Winnetonka and State in the Northland is over.
Authorities said it was a domestic incident and that an armed man was inside a nearby home with a woman and possibly a child threatening to harm them.
A woman emerged from the home, but the male suspect was not found.
The standoff forced three nearby schools into lockdown mode. The lockdown has since been lifted.
Kansas City, Mo., police asked the North Kansas City School District to lockdown Winnetonka High School, Maple Wood Elementary and Maple Park Middle School as a precaution.
The schools delayed in letting the kids out of class and onto buses.
This was one of three standoffs to take place on Tuesday.
