PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - A teenage runaway may have been forced to work as a prostitute.
Prairie Village Police made the discovery Thursday night after an undercover prostitution sting.
Officers arrested a man and woman and found they may have made the 17-year-old girl engage in prostitution, police said.
The girl is from Missouri, as are the two charged in the case.
Tony Rogers, 24, of Kansas City and Danyelle Putman, 20, of Independence, are charged in Johnson County Court with promoting prostitution.
The pair made their first court appearances Friday afternoon.
Prairie Village Police are working with federal authorities to see if other charges can be filed.
This is the second incident in the last year in Prairie Village where a teenager was found working as a prostitute, police said.
