KANSAS CITY, Missouri - A group of college students in Kansas City took a stand against sexual violence.
Students from the University of Missouri – Kansas City marched in the seventh annual Take Back the Night March and Rally.
They started from the UMKC campus near 51st and Rockhill Road.
From there, they headed to the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain on the Country Club Plaza.
"I would hope the community would support us and our work to help end sexual violence to let women and men who are victims, too, live lives without having to worry about being assaulted, raped or beaten,” said Brenda Bethman, director of UMKC Women’s Center.
Sexual assault survivors spoke during the rally about their recovery after being attacked.
