SHAWNEE, Kan. - A Shawnee woman told police Thursday she believes she was a victim of lewd and lascivious behavior in March.
Police say the woman’s report is the fourth such report they’ve received about a man exposing himself at public parks and trails in the city. Police aren’t saying if the cases are connected.
Last week, Shawnee Police asked for the public’s help in identifying a suspect after two women reported being flashed at Garrett Park in July. Police described that suspect as having a “Mediterranean” look and was between the ages of 18-25.
Then last week, police say a woman told them she was flashed along a walking trail near 63rd Street and Monticello Road, the same location where a woman told police Thursday she had been exposed.
Just a block away from the trail is Monticello Middle School, and people in the area said they hope the suspect is caught before he exposes himself to a group of kids.
Streetlights along Monticello Road were not working Thursday night, leaving the scene where the incidents occurred very dark.
41 Action News contacted the city and the police department to find out why the lights were not working. No response has been given.
Police did not have a suspect description for the incidents along Monticello Road.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Shawnee Police Department at 913-631-2155.
