KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A group of Kansas City 6 th graders is showing off a classroom invention and now they're hoping to win a global competition.
The ACE Robotics team invented a UV light lunchbox that sanitizes food between when it’s packed in the morning and when lunchtime arrives. When the lunchbox is closed, the UV light is turned on to kill any bacteria that could make food unsafe to eat.
Two students, Isis Thompson and Ma'Kese Wesley, represented the team in Washington D.C. earlier this week at the White House Science Fair.
But their UV light lunchbox isn’t done competing yet. Now they’re part of the FLL Global Innovation contest, where the winning team will work with a product development and marketing experts to make their invention a reality! To vote for the ACE Robotic Scholars, click here .
