KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Second lady Jill Biden visited the Penn Valley campus of Metropolitan Community College Monday afternoon to learn how the college is educating its students in the healthcare technology field.
The college recently received more than $3 million to refine its program.

"I've seen what happens in community college classrooms and its extraordinary,” Biden said. “And, what's extraordinary is that we have recognized that not only can community colleges change lives, they can change America."
After her visit, she left for another campus tour at Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana.
Her husband, Vice President Joe Biden, was also in Kansas City Monday, attending a private fundraiser.
