Power outage affected several buildings on University of Kansas campus

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Several buildings were without power on the east side of the University of Kansas campus Tuesday afternoon.

The power outage was reported around 2:10 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Kansas officials, a mouse caused an electrical short.

Power was restored to the buildings gradually, with the power fully restored about 3:30 p.m. The outage lasted about 75 minutes.

The following buildings were impacted by the power outage:

  • Bailey
  • Watson
  • Fraser
  • Twente
  • Smith
  • Dyche
  • Lippencott
  • Wesley
  • Blake
  • Spencer Museum
  • Kansas Union
  • Some or all scholarship halls
