KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A new campaign aimed at preventing teen violence is being launched just in time for the first day of school.
It was started by "New House," a shelter in Kansas City for abused women. Schools, church groups and any other organization or family can call and set up a program for free.
The shelter also started a new web site for students, www.newhouse4teens.org . It has a list of red flags and phone numbers. New House says it's never too young to raise awareness.
Bridgette Mavec, New House spokesperson says, "It's kind of grabbing them before they start dating or in the early stages of dating to let them know what you should not tolerate in a relationship."
Right now, the shelter says one in three girls are the victim of teen dating violence.
