KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School is one of the Top 20 "Best Value" law schools in the country, according to The National Jurist magazine.

UMKC said in a news release that its law school has moved up in the magazine’s rankings each year since it was ranked 25 in 2009. This year the magazine changed its formula to one with a more precise methodology for successful job placement following graduation, and that change lifted UMKC into 20 place in the rankings.

"The law school prides itself on incorporating practical skills with theoretical perspectives to create practice-ready law graduates," said Law School Dean Ellen Suni in the release. "UMKC Law was one of the first law schools, and has been among the most successful, in developing programs to assist students in the bar-preparation process and the transition to practice."
