KANSAS CITY, Mo. - We are only weeks away from summer vacation, but the Kansas City Health Department wants parents to already be thinking about going back to school.
The Health Department hopes parents don't wait to get their children immunized.
There are several advantages to go into the health department now, instead of in late July or August.
If parents wait, they can expect to spend about two hours, instead of the twenty minutes it would take now.
"Unfortunately, we've had to turn people away,” said Kansas City Health Department Supervisor Jelena Wynn. “Because, you know, realistically we can only do so many in a day and we know that. So at a certain time we'll say, ‘Look we can't take any more.’"
