KANSAS CITY, Mo. - September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month to emphasize the importance of early detection for the disease that, if discovered early, is highly treatable.

David Emerson started Faith Love Hope Win, a Kansas City-based organization raising awareness and money for prostate cancer research, after he was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2005.

His goal is to make sure every man knows the importance of early detection.  He has also raised more than $200,000 for research since the organization began.

On Sept. 30th, FLHW is hosting its 7th annual golf tournament at the Sycamore Ridge Golf Course in Spring Hills, Kansas.  Check-in begins at 11 a.m.  Shotgun is at 12:30 p.m.
