KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Film crews hit the inner city to develop a television pilot with a very important plot line.
The local nonprofit organization Lend a Hand Family filmed a children's television program at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City on Tuesday night.
The documentary-style show is meant to help kids develop healthy habits including staying active and eating better foods.
"It's making a huge difference. We've got kids right now that are wanting water, wanting juice instead of pop, wanting apples, bananas, things like that -- because that's what they're teaching them," said Boys and Girls Club Athletic Director David Reisner.
The television pilot will also show how Lend a Hand Family is working to improve the urban core and help inner-city youth.
