Kansas City-area buildings sport red lights for National Wear Red Day

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Go Red movement spreads to more than just clothes and "Red Dress" pins.

The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts building is also sporting red.

While it's hard to see during the day, red lights will light up the skyline all weekend.

"Joining up in the community. Just to note....just by showing the way is a way of symbolizing that we're aware of this silent killer,” said Jane Chu, president and CEO of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

Other buildings around Kansas City that are sporting red include the downtown Marriott, the Plaza, the Power and Light District, the Overland Park Convention Center, and HCA Midwest Health System.
