Local hospitals named as four of the nation's top performing hospitals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Four Kansas City area hospitals were named among the nation's top performing hospitals.
Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Lee's Summit Medical Center, Research Belton Hospital and Lafayette Regional Health Center all made the list.
Each hospital is part of the HCA Midwest Health System.
The list recognizes top performing hospitals based on data reported about evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions , including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical care.
"I would have to thank all of our physicians and our employees on the front line. They deserve all the credit, not management. They do a great job focusing on providing great quality care,” said Damond Boatwright, Lee's Summit Medical, CEO/President.
A total of 405 hospitals around the country made this year's list.
