GRANDVIEW, Mo. - Belvidere Elementary School wants parents to join their kids in a host of workout regimens to get the entire family healthy.
The Grandview school hosted its first-ever Family Fitness Night on Thursday.
Parents were encouraged to work out with their kids by doing everything from X-Box dancing to the parachute crawl. They also navigated several different stations to learn various workouts to do at home as a family.
“We want our parents to come and explore what our kids experience here in P.E. class, and let them know they can be active with their kids,” explained Belvidere physical education teacher John DeWitt.
In addition to teaching physical activities, the Family Fitness Night also included a session on healthy eating and free flu shots.
