JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Jefferson City, Mo., HealthNet is in the process of notifying 1,357 people of a HIPAA disclosure, saying some of their personal information has been compromised.
According to a HealthNet statement, personal information was mailed to an incorrect address by contractor Infocrossing, Inc. The glitch was caused by a software programming error.
HealthNet sent written notices to those affected by the mailings.
They said that although there is no reason to believe identity theft has occurred, they are offering free, continuous credit-monitoring services and identity theft consultation and restoration for two years.
Individuals who have received the notification can call 877-309-0021 with questions or concerns.
