KANSAS CITY, Mo. - September is Hunger Action Month for groups that keep those in need, fed.
It’s getting harder to keep up with demand, but sometimes a little goes a long way.
The line always forms early at the Kansas City Community Kitchen. More than 400 guests and two dozen volunteers gather there every weekday for a hot lunch.
On Wednesday, volunteers from Stubbs Barbecue prepared a barbecue meal.
They're on a national tour for their barbecue products and at every stop, they visit a food kitchen to feed the hungry.
Kurt Koegler, from Stubb's Legendary Kitchen, says, "People love to get a good meal. It's been good connecting with these folks. I think they feel warm that somebody cares about them."
