KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A family cat died in a Kansas City house fire late Monday night.
The family of four was able to get out of the house when the fire started around 10:30 p.m. Monday in a house in the 3100 block of Brooklyn.
The Red Cross is assisting the family in finding a place to live as investigators assess the damage and attempt to determine a cause.
The fire was contained in about 20 minutes.
