KC NoVA hosted a rally Saturday to bring the community and law enforcement together to reduce violence in Kansas City.
KC NoVA is Kansas City's No Violence Alliance. KC NoVA uses police intelligence to analyze the relationships among criminals, mapping offenders and their associated groups.
Key members of those networks are invited to meet at call-ins with KC NoVA leaders and their partners, including community leaders and the faith-based community.
At those call-ins, invited group members will be asked to stay away from violence and are offered help. If violence results or continues group members will attract the swift attention of law enforcement..
In Kansas City, each patrol division has 8 officers dedicated to NoVA enforcement.
KC NoVA launched in January 2013, when it focused on a Northeast Kansas City-area group associated with violence.
