KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Several accidents around the metro tied up traffic at the beginning of rush hour.
Six cars were involved in a crash at 152 and Shoal Creek Parkway. There is no word on injuries in the crash, but officials recommend motorists avoid the area. It was cleared Thursday evening.
Two accidents a few miles apart had traffic snarled in both directions of Interstate 70 near Independence. They were cleared by 7 p.m. Thursday.
A car rolled over in the westbound lanes of I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd. The two right lanes of traffic are closed at that accident site. Those lanes were reopened at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
A few miles east, on eastbound I-70 near Lee's Summit Road, there were several vehicles involved in an accident. That accident is cleaned up and traffic is moving again.
Officials spent much of the afternoon cleaning up the northbound I-635 exit from I-70 after a semi-truck overturned. The exit is open again Thursday evening.
Drivers on westbound I-435 just before 103rd were backed up after a multi-vehicle collision. That accident has been cleared.
