KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The holidays may be more than a month away, but one local organization opened their present early.
Thursday night, the Ameristar Casino presented a check for $5,000 to the Don Bosco Senior Center.
The money will help fund new exercise equipment at Don Bosco located near Indepedence Ave. and Charlotte.
As a bonus gift, 40 Ameristar Casino employees served dinner Thursday to more than 300 seniors during its seventh annual Thanksgiving dinner.
The Don Bosco Senior Center has been helping seniors, ages 60 and over, and adults with disabilities maintain independent living by providing meals, transportation and fellowship.
Ameristar has been a partner of the Don Bosco Senior Center since 2005.
