KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Authorities are investigating a natural gas line break in the 1200 block of W. 29th Street.

Someone hit a natural gas line in the area. Construction crews hit the four inch plastic line.

Kansas City police have traffic blocked at 30th and Mercier. Missouri Gas Energy is on the scene, but authorities say there is no buildup of gas in the area from the break.

People are reporting the smell of gas as far south as 35th Street.
