KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Here's to hoping you savored your Chocolate Ale to the very last drop.
Boulevard Brewing Company announced on Wednesday that it will not be producing its wildly popular Chocolate Ale in 2013.
In a statement, the company stressed that it is not officially retiring the brew. They said they are working to streamline the production process - particularly to keep up with consumer demand.
Chocolate Ale was one of Boulevard's Smokestack Series. It was first introduced in Feb. 2011 and sold out within hours of hitting store shelves.
Boulevard brought it back for a limited release again earlier this year to even more fanfare, but the company had to offer refunds on three batches of Chocolate Ale that had "unwanted flavors."
