KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The parents of a little boy found wandering the streets of Kansas City early Wednesday picked him up a couple hours after he apparently walked out the front door.
Police report the 2-year-old boy was spotted at about 6 a.m. near 39th Street and Prospect .
A man told 41 Action News he was walking in the area when he saw the boy, wearing just a diaper and a green t-shirt, running down the street.
The boy’s parents reported him missing at 6:57 a.m.
According to police, it appears the boy unlocked the front door and walked out of his house in the 4100 block of Chestnut sometime Wednesday morning.
The boy appeared to be in good health, but was taken to an area hospital for observation. His parents reunited with him there, police said.
Authorities say no charges were expected, but the state Division of Family Services will conduct a follow-up investigation.
