KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, two local groups came together to offer treatment options for survivors.
Monday night, Gilda's Club and Young Survival Coalition hosted a free panel discussion about reconstructive surgery.
Both professional experts and cancer survivors shared several options out there for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
"It's going to let them see the different options that are available. Whether women want to chose to have a reconstructive surgery or not. We want them to feel good about whatever decisions they may want to make and talk to their doctors," said executive director of Young Survival Coalition, Jennifer Johnson.
If you missed Monday night's discussion, Gilda's Club will be posting it on their Facebook page, facebook.com/GildasClubKC .
