KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Guests at a Kansas City hotel have been without water since Thursday night after a nearby water main break.
Andrew Marin, the owner of the Ramada Conference Center, 1601 Universal Avenue, says water was shut off to the hotel at about 8 p.m. Thursday and remained off as guests were waking up Friday.
“It’s very disheartening,” he told 41 Action News Friday morning, saying he had guests come in Thursday night and turn right back around when they were told the hotel had no water.
City officials said Friday morning when they were trying to turn off the valve Thursday, it broke, meaning they had to cut service.
A Kansas City Water Services spokeswoman said she was checking to see if others in the area were still without water. She did not have an estimated time for service to be restored at the Ramada.
“The problem is not knowing,” Marin said. “I’m totally in the dark.”
Marin said about 80 rooms were occupied Thursday night.
