PLEASANT VALLEY, Mo. - An 8-year-old boy was in serious condition at a local hospital Sunday after he was ejected from the family SUV during a crash Sunday afternoon on Interstate Highway 35 near Pleasant Valley Road.
The crash closed the right lane of northbound I-35 for at least an hour, causing a backup behind the scene.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that the vehicle, being driven by 34-year-old Michelle Jones of Kellyville, Okla., slid off the inside part of the road and that the driver then overcorrected, losing control and spinning out into a fence.
Eight-year-old passenger Ryan Jones was ejected during the crash, suffering serious injuries. Both the driver and another passenger, 12-year-old Christopher Jones, were transported by ambulance to area hospitals with moderate injuries.
