KANSAS CITY, Mo. - On Friday, city leaders will gather to cut the ribbon on the new KCP&L SmartGrid Innovation Park. The park is located just north of KCP&L's Midtown Substation.
The park will give customers the chance to learn about smart grid technology and the impact on the area’s energy future.
The park includes a solar panel array as well as one of the largest lithium ion battery storage systems in the country.
The park is part of KCP&L's commitment to the green impact zone of Kansas City.
