Community leaders hold forum to stop violence in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The people who form those potentially violent flash mobs may know best how to prevent them.

Community leaders held a forum today at Brush Creek Community Center, to search for answers to the ongoing violence.

Back in 2010, hundreds of teens took over the streets of the Country Club Plaza, where one person was hurt and others were harassed. 

One teen says the key to helping reduce the mobs is communication.

"They could have talked it out, but people are so ignorant. We need to learn how to step it up and communicate. If we don't have communication -- nothing is going to get done in this world", said Martae Cribux.

The teens say easier access to activities like skateboarding and bowling would help.
