KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Country star singer Tim McGraw has family ties to Kansas City.
He was a guest on the NBC show “Who Do You Think You Are?”
McGraw did not really find out who his real father was until he was 18 years old. Since then he’s had questions about his past.
Local Genealogist Kathleen Brandt was called by NBC producers to help track down McGraw’s past.
During the interview his learned his great grandmother and ancestors helped settle in and around Kansas City and Lee’s Summit.
McGraw also learned another ancestor; Isaac Chrisman was in civil government.
“Part of my family was here before, before the Revolution before we were a country,” said McGraw.
