KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A car slammed into the rear of a tractor trailer Wednesday morning on US 71 Highway, lodging the vehicle underneath the truck and closing traffic on the highway.
It happened just before 8:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near 75th Street.
Kansas City Police reported on Twitter that the female driver of the car had died, but later clarified she was in “very critical” condition.
One northbound lane of the highway remained blocked as of 9:30 a.m.
