Crews battle hotel fire in southeast Kansas City

Evacuations underway

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Crews spent Saturday afternoon battling a hotel fire in southeast Kansas City.

Smoke was showing from the second floor of the Capital Center Inn, 6101 E. 87th St., just after noon. When crews arrived, guests were evacuating the building.

No injuries were reported. Authorities said the fire was extinguished quickly.
