KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Dozens of tips and sightings of Perceus the yellow lab have been called in since he was last seen after the explosion at JJ's Restaurant, but none of them have panned out.
His owner, Dr. John Verstraete, whose office on the Country Club Plaza was damaged in the blast, said he is touched by the community's efforts to find him.
"It's amazing how many people have contacted me with support, and that they went out looking," he said.
Verstraete said Perceus had on a camouflage collar with a blue tag with his name on it when he ran away after the explosion.
While Perceus isn't microchipped, Verstraete still hopes they'll be reunited.
"I undoubtedly hope that somebody has taken him in, and they're taking care of him and just haven't realized that he is missing and belongs to people who really care for him," he said.
A reward of $1,200 is ready for whomever brings Perceus home. Call 816-588-1500 or 816-210-4942 if you have any information on his whereabouts.
