KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man died early Thursday after he slammed his vehicle into a Kansas City duplex.
According to police, officers attempted to pull over the driver for an unspecified traffic violation, but did not chase him when he sped away.
Shortly after, around 2 a.m., authorities received a call that a car had slammed into a duplex at 34th and Central.
Investigators say the car was the same one that had eluded police earlier.
The driver was taken to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Nobody in the duplex was injured, but a man who lives there said the crash shook the whole building when it happened.
The driver has not been identified.
