KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The line for Powerball tickets outside one local store started at 7 a.m. Wednesday and never stopped.
"The chaos has always been very intense for the ladies that work back there ... they have a great time and it makes the day go by extremely fast," said Robin Wenzl with the Red X in Riverside, Mo.
The numbers for the estimated $580 million jackpot were picked Wednesday at 9:59 p.m. CT.

Customers had different strategies for picking their numbers.
"I stopped picking my own numbers because they never came up," said Gloria Burns.
But Jacqui Stenniken chose numbers carefully.
"I did all birthdays from family members," she said. "So hopefully it's very lucky."
The record-breaking jackpot brought out at least one wealthy patron. Former Kansas City Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil was spotted in line for a ticket.
If no one wins after Wednesday night's drawing, the Red X manager said they will have popcorn ready for the lines on Saturday as the jackpot gets closer to $1 billion.
