KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The extreme heat is taking a toll on local businesses that prepare your food.

Good You is an organic food truck that travels through popular places in Kansas City, like Westport and downtown.

Executive Chef Kelli Daniels said the hot temperatures make it difficult to maintain the food inside the truck.

"You hydrate. You pack everything in ice. You use dry ice. I usually have to plug in my refrigerator 4-5 hours before I have to be somewhere just to get it up to temp", Daniels explained.

If you don't want to wait for the truck in the heat, you can get all the Good You food at the Czar Bar off 15th and Grand.

Good You recently won best burger in Kansas City at the Westport Bash.
