KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Health Department has closed a local Family Dollar, saying it is infested with rats.
Health inspectors found the rats during the third re-inspection of the Family Dollar at Troost and Meyer Blvd., Inspectors said the infestation showed no signs of improvement.
The inspector noted rat hair, urine and feces on store shelves throughout the store. The inspector also noted chewed food and soap, as well as pet food packages chewed open.
The health department said the store must stay closed until they can show they have effective pest control measures in place.
