KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police are searching for a woman who allegedly shot and killed another driver in a road rage incident Wednesday evening. The driver's death marks the seventh homicide in three days in Kansas City, Mo.
The shooting occurred near Cleaver and Elmwood around 5:30 p.m. According to police, the two female drivers got into an altercation, which ended with one of them shot dead in her vehicle in the westbound lanes of Cleaver.
Police said several witnesses have provided them with a strong description of the shooter's vehicle. Officers are on the lookout for a maroon Expedition or Explorer SUV from the early 2000s with tinted windows and no plates.
The shooter's description is more vague, described by witnesses only as a black female. But whoever she is, police Capt. Steve Young said her actions are senseless.
"I know people get angry, but the larger problem is that there's people that think this is the right way to solve your problems. It's mind-boggling to me," Young said.
