PARKVILLE, Mo. - Kansas City fire officials battled a house fire in the 6300 block of N. Nevada in Platte County early Friday evening.

Fire crews were called to the scene around 5:15 p.m. The first crews on scene reported heavy smoke and ordered a working fire response.

Firefighters briefly evacuated the structure because of concerns the roof might fall in. No injuries were reported.

The blaze was contained by 6:15 p.m.
