KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A woman was in critical condition at a local hospital Saturday after firefighters pulled her from her burning apartment home late Friday night.
Firemen were called to 6000 block of Prospect Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Friday to extinguish a blaze in a one-story apartment buildings there.
Battalion Chief James Garrett said firemen pulled the woman from her home and got her to an ambulance, where she was first taken to Research Medical Center in critical condition. She was later transferred to St. Joseph Medical Center. Her identity has not been released.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation Saturday morning.
