KANSAS CITY, Mo. - From one barbeque city to another, the Folk Alliance International has relocated from Memphis to Kansas City.
On Saturday, the store celebrated its grand opening.
It has new and vintage instruments, ranging from banjos to ukuleles.
The goal of the store isn't just to get people to come in and buy, but to come in and play, too.
"That’s the fun thing about folk music; it was always about the interaction between players. You know building a community based off the music," Executive Director of Folk Alliance International Louis Meyers said.
Meyers said they are excited about being in the River Markey district and thankful for all the support other businesses in the area have given them.
