KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Anxious football fans are ready for the college games to begin. Fans at downtown sports bars told us their excited to see what the new season will bring.
“I think KU’s a big question mark. They have a new coach and a lot of new players, a new quarterback that everyone’s excited about. So we’re all pretty excited to see how the season turns out” says KU fan Lindy Collins.
And with MU now in the SEC many fans can kiss that rivalry goodbye.
“It’s tough to see the rivalry go. I will miss playing them. I will miss beating them. I don’t wish them the best of luck.”
Mizzou fans aren’t intimidated.
“Can’t wait for the new adventure,” says MU fan Jimmy Masters. “It’s a competitive conference.”
Masters is a little more sentimental when it comes to the KU-MU rivalry.
“That’s such a heated rivalry. I’m going to miss it dearly. It’d be nice to see them in a bowl game, but I don’t think they’re going to be that good this year.”
